Brittney Reeves, Assistant Principal

Brittney Reeves is the Assistant Principal at Gulf Shores Middle School. She began her teaching career at Gulf Shores in 2012 as a 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts teacher. During her time at GSMS, she has taught ELA, Computer Science, and Journalism and served as the Instructional Coach. She is also the Program Director for Gulf Shores City Schools’ afterschool and summer programs. Her work at GSMS has guided teachers and students in analyzing student data to better understand student’s individualized needs and develop differentiated, personalized instructional opportunities along with a variety of immersive, hands-on learning experiences. She has obtained numerous grants that have afforded virtual reality headsets, eSports equipment, bicycles, a rock wall, and more for our school. 

Assistant Principal Reeves earned her BA in Secondary English Education from the University of South Alabama, her MA in Gifted Education from the University of Alabama, and her certification in Educational Leadership from Auburn University. She is currently continuing her educational growth through working towards National Board certification. Educational growth of students has always been Brittney’s passion. She enjoys assisting teachers and students in data analysis, goal setting, and reflections. Empowering students with skills that build their confidence and increase their academic achievement in conjunction with assisting teachers in data analysis and targeted instruction based on individual student learning needs and learning styles is what motivates Ms. Reeves to work in education. 

Ms. Reeves lives in Gulf Shores with her son Wyatt - a junior at GSHS who is active in the GSHS marching and concert bands as well as NHS. They enjoy traveling, exploring our local area, and spending time with family.
