This is Mr. Talantis’s 17th year in Education. His career started at Tuscaloosa Middle School which quickly split, moving Mr. Talantis to Southview Middle School where he served in many roles, from the inaugural baseball coach to the Faculty Chair for Title I and BBSST (RTI) committees. In 2012, Mr. Talantis moved south to Fairhope Middle School to teach English, PE, ACCESS, and Drama. During that time, he graduated with honors from the University of South Alabama’s Education Leadership program. He then moved to Gulf Shores High School, where he served as an English teacher, Building Test Coordinator, Middle School Baseball Head Coach, Guided Reading Specialist, and Senior Success Coach until the 2022-2023 school year. This will be his first year at Gulf Shores Middle.
Mr. Talantis lives in Gulf Shores with his wife Amanda, son Alex, and daughter Izzy. He enjoys gardening, cycling, traveling, cooking, and family time whenever he gets the chance. His wife also works in the Gulf Shores City School System at the high school where she has many roles. With Izzy at the elementary school and Alex at the middle school, the family is firmly invested in positive outcomes throughout the community.
